Lots of New Adventures

Posted on

Hey y’all! It’s going to be short this week!
As all of y’all know transfers occurred on Wednesday and I got my new baby missionary! (: Sister Merriam is full of sparks and so much energy! She is excited to be a missionary and I can’t wait to see what this transfer has in store for us! (:
Saturday we had dinner at a members house and we had a ‘greenie’ meal. Don’t tell….(: Sister Merriam’s food was all and COMPLETELY green. HA it was so fun and she took it like a champ. (: I am so proud of her and all that she does. She is pro-missionary already. (:
Sunday had an amazing experience happen! We finally went back to see this woman, Teresa and we found out she has met with missionaries before!! We have a set appointment with her to go back on Tuesday! I am so excited! She may not have been then, but her heart is definitely softer then it was! I can’t wait to begin teaching her!!
Also some Funnies!
I told Sister Merriam that I needed to marry someone who liked the Walking Dead so we can watch it together…(one day)…. and she said, “You can have walking dead babies!!!” Y’all it was SO funny. (: I died.
Sister Merriam was also caught in a stare on Thursday and she said, “Sorry, sometimes, my eyes just get stuck.”
Tuesday when I was still with Sister Platt, I was singing really loudly and very badly in the car and she turns towards me and says, “Hush you obnoxious weed.” Again, I died. Also while we were tracting on Tuesday Sister Platt says, “I need to relieve my waters.” I love how casually she says these things! I’m gunna start sayin that y’all. (:
Another funny thing that happened on Thursday! We were on team-ups with the Nickersons! A storm comes blowin in and we are stuck in this little car with a plate of cookies in front of this less active’s home who is NOT there. Well we wanted to leave the cookies for them with a note so they know who it is from, and we obviously wanted the note to stay dry so we were each looking for something to cover the plate with when Sister Nickerson yells “I have a diaper! A clean one!” Brother Nickerson says, “That’ll do!” First of all, why they have a diaper in their I’m not sure, because they are an older couple, and second the fact that she yelled a clean one?? Hmm….So Brother Nickerson puts the diaper over the plate of cookies and runs! As he is running back we see through the water smeared windows that he has the diaper on his head!! Now this is an odd sight for a brand new missionary who just got into the field! And I’m just dying in the corner laughing my head off. (: I love the South! (:
Well that is it for now y’all! Have a great week and remember to stay STEADFAST IN CHRIST!!
Love,
Sister Jesselyn Drummond

Happy 4th!

Posted on Updated on

Well I forgot to wish y’all a Happy 4th of July last week I think…So here it is this week just a little late! (:

HAPPY 4TH of JULY
There. (:
So anyways, we had a good week! It was very full of stuff that I really don’t remember what we did. I remember that on the 4th we had zone training, which was a very good meeting! The spirit was there and I learned a ton from other missionaries! Also, the Booneville missionaries (that is me, my companion, and the elders) did a musical number! It was fun haha. But after we got back into Booneville we went to a members home and we ate hot dogs and grilled corn and let me tell y’all, the south has THE BEST baked beans in the world haha. It was really good!
After that, we went to ANOTHER members home and ate even more! But this time, we ate dough burgers, and for those of y’all who don’t know what a dough burger is, which should be most of y’all…a dough burger is hamburger meat and well dough mixed together and cooked. The dough in the meat makes the meat last longer so you can have more burgers! It is really good. (: And again really good baked beans and for desert, HOMEMADE peanut butter Oreo ice cream and HOMEMADE peach cobbler. Oh my my my, it is so good. I’m just sayin, I haven’t gained 15 pounds because I’m lazy! It is all this delicious food that I can’t stop eatin hahaha!
So anyways, we had a good week and Booneville is really startin to pick up! We have great investigators! One of our amazing investigators we are helpin to quit smoking. She is so on board and ready to quit! (: I’m so excited. Other investigators we have are strugglin with some real intent. But that is okay! We will teach them what ‘real intent’ is. (:
I hope y’all are having a great summer! I know where I am at…it is so HUMID and so HOT!! Yum sticky goodness haha
Have a great week y’all!

Alrighty y’all.

I don’t have a lot of time left, so this is going to be a very quick email!
This past week, we have done a lot of full day service projects. I am so beat! But It was a good week!

I love Booneville. I really do! It’s small and quaint. I also know that without a doubt, I am DEFINITELY in the South now. It even looks like the south. I mean, the city was the south, but now that I am in the country…oh man, it’s so great.
I’m really gettin my southern accent down! When y’all see me in about a year’s time, I will be a southern belle! Can’t y’all just wait! 😉
Well we are fixin to do ANOTHER service project today!
Love y’all so much! Have a great week and stay steadfast in Christ!

Love,
Sister Drummond

It’s Not a Religion, It’s a Relationship

Posted on Updated on

This week has been, interesting.

It started out a little rough, but once Wednesday hit, It was very good! (:

But also, as of right now I have a love hate relationship with the South and with the Bible. I love the South, do not get me wrong. I LOVE the south. (: People just can not get over the Bible. To them it is ‘the one and only truth.’ But really? NO! The Bible contradicts itself…Whereas, the Book of Mormon is straight to the point and isn’t very confusing. I love the Bible because it IS the word of God, as long as it is translated correctly. I also love the Bible because it as strengthened my love and testimony of the Book of Mormon. If any y’all have not read the Book of Mormon, I suggest you do so! And then do as Moroni directs in Moroni 10:3-5. His promise about the Book! (:

Life is good though. I  have been in the south for 5 months now!? Crazy. Time really is flyin!
I hope y’all are doin well though and have a fantastic week! I know I will, the weather is so beautiful and warm now! Hopefully it stays like this until summer…which by then will be like HADES! /: I’m just OOBER excited. 😉
Love y’all so much!

Love,
Sister Jesselyn Drummond
